Bethel Township Trustees

Welcome and pledge:   Led by Trustee Don Minton

Prayer: Led by Trustee Nancy Brown

In Attendance: Trustees Don Minton and Nancy Brown, Chief Jacob King, Fiscal Officer Stacey McKenzie and Township Coordinator Rhonda Ledford.  Trustee Dave Phares was out on a medical issue.

Bethel Township resident Brian Still of 4909 Alpha Rd spoke about a conflict with his neighbor at 4910 Alpha Rd.  Mr. Still claims that his neighbor blocks his access to his driveway and has two trailers parked on the township easement which causes him not to be able to gain access to his parking with out complications. Mr. Still provided photo’s 

Bethel Township residents Pam & Michael Dyer of 4910 Alpha Rd was in attendance and claims that Mr. Still has too much traffic coming in and out of the area.  Mr. Dyer claims that he has always parked his trailers on township property and that he maintains the property free of grass and overgrowth.

Bethel Township trustees thanked both families for coming and stated they would take their complaints into consideration and decide on the best way to handle the situation. 

Mr. John Muncy attended the meeting.  He is opposed to the Bethel Township Police Levy that will be on the ballot on November2, 2021.  He stated he is a farmer and can not recoup this expense.  The trustees and Chief King spoke about the importance of the levy and for the township to provide a safe community for Bethel Townships residents.

21-09-28-01 Trustee Don Minton moves to accept the agenda.  Second by Trustee Nancy Brown.  R/C: All ayes.  

21-09-28-02 Trustee Nancy Brown moves to pay the bills, check numbers 65244 through 65271 and ACH deductions 1087-2021 through 1113-2021 in the amount of $51,565.18.  Second by Trustee Don Minton. R/C: All ayes.     

21-09-28-03 Trustee Don Minton moves to dispense with reading and accept the minutes from the regular meeting of September 14, 2021.  Second by Trustee Nancy Brown. R/C: All ayes.

NEW BUSINESS

Administrative  

Trustee __ moves to declare each of the following properties a separate nuisance to be abated:

21-09-28-04 Trustee Nancy Brown moves to approve the renewal of the liquor permit for Chumma Chumma LLC. DBA Richies Cornter Stop located at 10846 Lower Valley Pike.  Medway, OH. 45341 as issued by the Ohio Division of Liquor Control.  Second by Trustee Don Minton.  R/C: All ayes.

21-09-28-05 Trustee Don Minton moves to approve Bethel Township Fiscal Officer Stacey McKenzie to reimburse the township employees for the purchase of Covid test.  The cost was $23.99 each.   Second by Trustee Nancy Brown.  R/C: All ayes.

21-09-28-06 Trustee Nancy Brown move to approve Bethel Township to pay for the Class B test for Daniel Keeton at the cost of 31.25.  Second by Trustee Don Minton.  R/C: All ayes.

21-09-28-07 Trustee Don Minton moves to follow the City of New Carlisle in setting Saturday, October 30, 2021, as Trick or Treat night in Bethel Township, Clark County.  The hours will be 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm.  Second by Trustee Nancy Brown. R/C: All ayes.

21-09-28-08 Trustee Nancy Brown moves to approve three extra deputies for the night of October 30, 2021, during the hours of Trick or Treat in Bethel Township, Clark County.  Second by Trustee Don Minton.  R/C: All ayes. Deputy Nick Moody will choose Deputies.

21-09-28-09 Trustee Don Minton moves to change the time from our board meetings from 5:00 to 6:00 PM. on the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of each month.  Second by Trustee Nancy Brown.  R/C: All ayes.

Fire  

Update on Website? Working on final design and we will have to set up where rentals of the Lions Den can be done online.

We are at 1678 Runs and three Drone calls.

Safe Exchange for the outside of the Trustees Offices is being installed now. They will install one at Donnelsville Station #51 too.

Road  

21-09-28-10 Trustee Nancy Brown approved Ellen Burton of 489 Grove St. to hold their annual Halloween party on Saturday, October 30, 2021, during Trick or Treat.  The township will provide barricades for the event.  Second by Trustee Don Minton.  R/C: All ayes.

Police:  The cruiser will be delivered as soon as the chip for the fuel pump is installed.  Fiscal Officer Stacey McKenzie will work on the final details of the financing.

Work Session:   

21-09-28-11 Trustee Don Minton moves to set the work session for October 5, 2021 @ 1:00 PM for Nuisance complaints. Second by Trustee Nancy Brown R/C: All ayes.

Meet the Candidates Night will be Tuesday October 5, 2021 @ 6:30 PM.  at Tecumseh High School.

We will hold a Community Informational Meeting on Tuesday, October 19, 2021, from 7:00 to 8:00 at the Bethel Township building for anyone who has questions about the levies.  

The Highway Hikers Toy Run will be held on Sunday, October 17, 2021 @1:00 PM.
